An Introduction to Hands-On Equations: Demystifying the Learning of Algebra

This interactive webinar will provide an overview of our powerful visual and kinesthetic approach to introducing students in grades 3 - 9 to algebraic concepts and thereby building their mathematical power and self-confidence.

We will show how the game pieces along with physical actions are used to represent and solve equations such as:

• 4x + 3 = 3x + 9
• 2(x + 4) = x + 10
• 3x + (-x) = x + 4
• 2x = (-x) + 12

In addition, we will provide a glimpse of how Hands-On Equations can assist students in solving verbal problems such as:

• Five times Kay's age, increased by 2, is the same as twice her age, increased by 11. How old is Kay?
• The Last of three consecutive numbers, increased by 10, is equal to the sum of the first two consecutive number. Find the numbers.

At the end of the webinar, we will raffle an individual set of Hands-On Equations (\$34.95 value).

We will be using JOIN.me for this session.

You will receive a link to the actual webinar room the day before the webinar, as well as on the day of the webinar.

Thank you.
