                                      Sunday June 10th, 2018, 8:30am – 2:30pm, for the

                                   "Hands Across the Border - Peace Arch Celebration" 

                                at Peace Arch State and Provincial Parks Located on

                                            the U.S. - Canada border between

                                  Blaine, Washington, and Douglas, British Columbia!

 You and your family can participate in this international celebration of peace that has been enjoyed by youth from around the world since it was originally established in 1937. 

We look forward to welcoming Scouts Canada, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts, Girl Guides, Trail Life USA, Camp Fire, American Heritage Girls, leaders, traders, volunteers, HATB alumni, and their families as you come together to celebrate this incredible youth program that has touched so many lives for generations.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is open to all Scouts, Boy Scouts, Trail Life USA, Girl Scouts, Campfire, American Girls, Girl Guides, leaders, traders, volunteers, HATB alumni, and their families.


 


Registration fee: $15.00 per person (U.S. Funds). 


 Your registration fee includes an official Hands Across the Border (HATB) program, crest/patch, friendship pin, flags, rubber wristband and other goodies.

Online registration will close on June 9th, 2018, or when registration is full. Each registered participant (purchaser) will also receive (via email) an Area Explorer Passport with area merchant discounts and specials that are reedemable HATB weekend.

Your Area Explorer Passport will be available for download May 15th, 2018. The Hands Across the Border program is held rain or shine. Siblings 5 and under are free (does not include goodie bag).

ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO PRINT OUT, complete and sign the PDF Registration & Liability Waiver and bring it to the registration tent located next to the Peace Arch in the arch field. There you will check in (scan email registration ticket), turn in your Registration Participation and Liability Waiver and receive you or your groups event goodie bag(s). 

      NOTE: we will update this page with the 2018 Goodie Bag by May 1st, 2018.                                                      

2017 HATB Goodie Bag

Space is limited to a minimum of 775 and a maximum of 2,500 registered participants, youth, leaders, alumni, family members & volunteers.

We appreciate early registration! 
You may register individually or as a unit. Many group leaders register their units.If parents bring their child to HATB they must register as the unit/leader and are required to pay registration fees. All participants under 18 are required to attend with their units, parents or their guardians.

Event T-shirt Youth

You may purchase your event T-shirt(s) in your desired size during your Eventbrite registration process and they will be waiting for you to pick up at HATB. 

Be sure to know the number sizes of the T-shirts you want when you regisiter for HATB. It is the last item you will select as you check out on the Eventbrite check out process.  NOTE: the Eventbrite system will NOT allow you to go back and order T-shirts after you check out!

NOTE: we will update the eventbrite website with the 2018 t-shirt design by May 1st, 2018. The deadline for ordering and prepaying for t-shirts when you registration at eventbrite is May 23rd, 

 


        Hands Across the Border Camp at Blaine Marine Park June 8th, 9th & 10th.


 Enjoy camping on Boundary Bay at Hands Across the Border Camp in Blaine Marine Park. The Blaine Marine Park is open to up to 300 registered HATB participants. You must be registered for HATB to reserve your campsite. In order to qualify to reserve a campsite you/your unit must be registered for HATB. Campsites will be available on a first come first serve basis. Once camp is full we will post it on this page.

Eventbrite service provides us with a list of registered HATB participants in the order they are received. If you wish to RESERVE a CAMPSITE you will check a box on your order form and you will recieve an email within 48 hours to begin processing your reservation.

The Camp RV sites are by DONATION, which will cover the costs of the IPAA providing services required by the City of Blaine to hold the camp. The suggested DONATION for a CAMPSITE is $20 per night (max 10 per site) and RV SITE $25 per night. There is a discount for staying both Friday and Saturday nights. Check is by 6PM Sunday June 10th. CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY


REFUNDS will be issued upon request through April 15th, 2018. 

The International Peace Arch Association (IPAA) needs 1,000 registered participants by April 1st, 2018, to move forward with the celebration. This is due to financial commitments to our vendors and others to hold the event.
The IPAA may accept less than 1,000 registered particpants and move forward with the celebration. If the event is cancelled due to there not being enough registrations, all registrations will be refunded. Should the IPAA Board decide move forward with the event with less than 1,000 registered participants all registration fees will be nonrefundable. 
NO REFUNDS will be issued for any reason through April 15th, 2018. 

IN THE EVENT OF CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL THE 2018 HANDS ACROSS THE BORDER PEACE ARCH CELEBRATION IS CANCELLED, AND CAN NOT BE RESCHEDULED, THE IPAA WILL MAIL ALL GOODIE BAGS & PRE-PAID T-SHIRTS TO THE PURCHASER / GROUP LEADERS FOR DISTRIBUTION TO THE PARTICIPANTS THEY REGISTERED. THIS WILL TAKE PLACE WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE CANCELLATION

 PEACE ARCH STATE & PROVINCIAL PARK(S) LOCATION


Where are the park(s) located? The American and Canadian parks have parking areas and both parking areas are first come first serve Be sure to TURN OFF YOUR GPS once you are within 3 miles of the international parks (US/ Canada Border) and follow written instructions to the parking areas. If you do not your GPS may give you driving instructions to cross the border (Peace Arch) and you will miss the exits to the Canadian and American parks parking areas.

NOTE: FOR YOUR GROUPS SAFETY, ONLY ACCESS THE ARCH FIELD THROUGH THE STAFFED PEDESTRIAN CROSSING AREAS. 

 American Side - Peace Arch State Park is located 22 miles north of Bellingham, WA off of I-5. Take exit 276, Blaine City Center. Drive north on Second Street to the park entrance and parking area. Parking is first come first serve. A Washington State Parks Discover Pass is required to park in the USA parking area.  You may purchase a day pass for $10 or purchase an annual pass for $30 which is valid at all Washington State Parks at http://www.discoverpass.wa.gov/.  Bus groups should call by June 1st, 2018, to arrange parking.

Canadian Side - Peace Arch Provincial Park is located 30 miles south of Vancouver, BC, off of Highway 99. Turn right (west) at Highway 99 at Beach Road. The park entrance and parking area are behind Peace Arch Duty Free. Parking is first come first serve. Bus groups should call by June 1st, 2018 to arrange parking. Call 360-332-7165.

International Peace Arch Association (IPAA)

The International Peace Arch Association formerly known as the United States Canada Peace Anniversary Association (1995-2016) is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the heritage and preservation of the International Peace Arch.

Since then the associations activities have included historic reenactments, commemorations, concerts, art festivals, educational programs, and other special events including the Peace Arch Park International Sculpture Exhibition, an annual feature in the park that is now in its 21st year.

In 2015, we held the Hands Across the Border Revival and the 2018 program will the 4th celebration under IPAA leadership.
