Have you ever thought of handicap as something good for you? Something you could learn from, that we all could learn upon.
The Student Social Responsibility committee has called four very particular souls that see every day of their life as an opportunity to make the world a better place for their friends, families and relatives. These four people have been through very different paths, but have come up to the same conclusion: Handicap is not a disability, it is a key to fight discrimination, to a better equity between human beings.
There isn’t a lot we can say when we have never seen the true face of handicap. Catherine and Line see their life from the other side of the glass. They see how their life is perceived by others and how erroneous it is: filled with embarrassment, avoid and disgust. They want to give us a chance to see them differently, through more than their physical shape.
Irvan and Augustin are two pioneers in the language sign world. They worked hard to create a platform to teach sign language. via a video dictionary and a network of sign translators all around the world.
This conference is not a solution, only the first step to better understand physically and mentally challenged people. We wish to give you the opportunity to reflect on what we do and what we think.
What if, us, ordinary people, were blind?
