Event description

Description

A close cousin of Drawing, Embroidery is a magnificent complex art form where you "draw" with thread into fabric. This Absolute Beginner is a great opportunity for you to lear some basics of embroidering and have a fun, relaxing time as winter draws near.
In this intensive, day-long workshop you will be creating your own embroidery masterpiece and taking it home by the end of the workshop:

- Learn how to draw on fabric and
- Learn and practice 3 fundamental embroidery stitches and its variations (running stitch, feather stitch, isolé stitch).
- Explore how different stitches create different textures and different "strokes" on your fabric.
- Master these embroidery stitches until they become regular and automatic in your fingers.

Born with a needle in hand, i shortly thereafter fabricated myself a tasteful umbilical belt. A hand-sewing lifestylist, i have led embroidery workshops in Toronto and Montreal for years. I also enjoy screen printing, graphic design, sharpie couture and deadly strong coffee.
