Event Details

The first responder heroes of our region deserve some recognition and a chance for action-packed, competitive and fun-filled sporting events with their fellow service men and women! In addition, we welcome the community to come out, show your support and compete side by side with your favorite first responder. 

Hero Games Event Schedule:

Pistol Challenge - $20 per person - Friday, Oct 20 at 10:00am at C2 Shooting Center, Virginia Beach

• Pistol Challenge scoring:

  • Stage One is a Long Course against metric targets
  • State Two is a Shoot Out against six steel target in a single array with a mandatroy reload
  • Written Stage Briefings will be available to all registered participants at check-in (this includes scoring method, target types and number, minimum number of rounds, the handgun ready condition, start position, time starts, and procedure)

Volleyball - $150 per team (up to 12 people), Saturday, Oct 21 at 10:00am at Tidewater Volleyball Association (TVA), Virginia Beach
CrossFit - $30 per team (2 people per team), Sunday, Oct 22 at 9:00am at Copound CrossFit, Chesapeake

• CrossFit may include the following movements:

  • Wall ball
  • Squat
  • Run (with or without objects)
  • Burpee
  • Push up
  • Slam ball
  • Kettlebell swing
  • Sit up
  • Rowing
  • Deadlift
  • Lunge
  • Box Jump
  • Shoulder press
  • Tire flip
  • Bench press

Firefighter Challenge - $15 per person - Saturday, Oct 28 at 10:00am at the Virginia Beach Fire and Training Center, Virginia Beach
• Firefighter Challenge includes:

  • Running up three flights of stairs with fire hose
  • Hammer sled
  • 50lbs bucket carry
  • Mannequin Drag
  • Short Sprint
  • Ladder Throw

Softball - $200 per team (up to 20 people), Sunday, Oct 29 at 9:00am at Stoney Run Athletic Complex, Newport News

** Firefighter Challenge and Pistol Challenge  are NOT open to the public to participate. All other sports are open to the public to participate. **

Hero Games Sport Rules

Participants: Open to all first responders, retirees, family members and general community supporters/public.

Charity: The winning depatments (overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd place) win money for the charity of their choice.
