Event description

Description

Law enforcement are often called to intervene during a mental health crisis. In Tennessee, there are over 128,000 crisis calls every year.

The 40-hour intensive Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training educates and prepares officers for safe contact with people experiencing a mental health crisis, substance abuse, or Alzheimer's/Dementia related crisis.

Since its inception in 2009, the CIT program has certified over 420 officers in Chattanooga and Hamilton County.

Join us in recognizing the great work of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and Chattanooga Police Department at the CIT appreciation and awards banquet.

This banquet will recognize and thank officers who have made a difference in the lives of Chattanooga and Hamilton County residents. Please consider attending to show your support and help grow the CIT program in our community.

Proceeds from the banquet will directly benefit officers by allowing them to attend the CIT training academy, funding the purchase of training materials, and ensuring officers are able to attend the banquet and International CIT conference.
