Description

Our class is a 5 session course split along 5 Fridays. (March 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th and April 6th from 5pm-9pm) The first four sessions are a classroom style teaching that will help you walk through the world of Ham Radio. The last session is our ham radio test session. This class is MEREO's longest class we offer.

The Book

The book that we use is the Technician License Course from the Ham Radio School.com. This book can be purchased with the HRT Registration, or purchased on its own before the class date. NOTE: THIS IS THE LAST MEREO CLASS WITH THIS BOOK. OTHER CLASSES WILL CHANGE TO THE NEW BOOK STARTING JULY 2018

About the Author

Stu Turner, WØSTU, holds an FCC Extra license, the top amateur license. As a professional educator he served as a US Air Force Academy engineering professor for eight years where he honed his skills of making difficult topics fun and easy to understand.

With his radio club he regularly teaches weekend ham radio classes that include youth as young as 10, non-technical domestic engineers, trained electrical engineers, senior citizens, emergency responders, and everyone in between! Over the years his Technician Class exam success rate consistently exceeds 90%.

He is a published amateur radio magazine author, and his exciting and inventive amateur radio events with his boy scout troop have been featured in Boys Life Magazine.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

The requirement is you must read & write, and all members under 14 must have an adult participate with them.

What do I need to bring into the event?

We request that you get your book 2 weeks prior to the first day of the class, and read Chapters 0-3 before the first day. Also bring along items to take notes, and your eagerness to learn.

What's the refund policy?

All Sales are Final, there are no refunds issued except if MEREO cancels the class.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we will only ask for your name at the event to confirm your regestration.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

If you must change the ticket please contact Christopher Schroeder at c.schroeder@mereowx.org.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No, we use the names of the tickets for the class list.
