What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Travel to and from Chicago Airports

Chicago Transit Authority

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) includes both a public bus system and the train (subway and the elevated Loop Train). To find the train at either airport, follow the signs for the CTA. The Blue line operates from O’Hare; the Orange Line from Midway.

The MTC is conveniently located two blocks east of the Randolph and Wabash “L” station in downtown Chicago (on the north side of the street). This station serves the Orange, Pink, Green, Purple, and Brown line “L” trains in the city, including those from Midway.

  • O’Hare (Blue Line “L”) Get off at Clark and Lake, walk 5 blocks east on Lake, and the Aon Center will be to your right at Stetson and Lake. The trip on the train should take approximately 45 minutes, with another 5-10 minutes of walking.
  • Midway (Orange Line “L”)Get off at Randolph and Wabash and walk east for 3 blocks. The Aon Center will be on your left. It takes approximately 35 minutes to get from Midway to the MTC stop.

Taxicabs are readily available outside of baggage claim. The cost is approximately U.S. $40, or you can opt to “ride share” for significantly less. Be aware that travel times vary greatly on Chicago’s busy expressways.

Travel to and from Amtrak or Metra

If arriving downtown from the suburbs via Union Station (Canal Street, between Adams and Jackson Boulevard), take CTA’s #151 bus to the Aon Center (across from Millennium Park). The bus stops at the corner of Michigan and Randolph, and the Aon Center is a block and a half east.

The Ogilvie Transportation Center (Madison and Canal Streets) is quickly accessible to the MTC by CTA’s #20 or #56 bus and the LaSalle Street Station (Congress and LaSalle Streets) is accessible to the Aon Center by CTA’s #147 and #151 bus.

If you’re taking the bus, you can pay cash with exact fare, but if you’re taking the “L,” you’ll need to purchase a CTA card before you can enter the turnstiles. The cost for the bus is $2.00 and for the “L” is U.S. $2.25, except at O'Hare, when $5.00 is deducted at boarding. The cards can be used on buses or the “L.”

Trip planners, rates and schedules can be found at Transit Chicago.
