About Your Instructors:
Kim Cozort Kay received a BM degree in Music Education from Appalachian State University followed by a Master of Music degree in Music Education from UNC-Greensboro. Kim has been an active member of Actors’ Equity Association since 1986 and the Screen Actors’ Guild since 1992. Currently, Kim serves as a teaching artist at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Conservatory of Performing Arts garnering her an Active GEAR-UP international teaching award. Additionally, Kim is a resident artist the Center for Creative Education in Palm Beach County. CCE‘s innovative program invites artists to collaborate with the classroom teacher integrating the arts with regular classroom studies. Kim resides in Jupiter with her husband, actor/director/teacher Kenneth Kay. Together they have formed Kay-Squared, a theatre company celebrating the single performer and small cast plays. Together, they recently premiered Kim’s play about Frankie Silver, Silver Shadows: Dark Side of a Mountain in Morganton.
Kenneth Kay (AEA, SAG-AFTRA, MFA) is an award-winning producer, director, actor & teacher with over thirty years of professional theatre and film experience, The former Artistic Director of the Blowing Rock Stage Company and the Burt Reynolds’ Institute for Theatre & Film, he has over 300 stage productions to his credit. Film & TV credits include featured roles in Random Hearts with Harrison Ford, several episodes of Miami Vice and Ballers with Dwayne Johnson which can currently be seen on HBO. When not acting or directing, Mr. Kay is a teaching professional at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre and an Adjunct Professor with Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Drama Department.
