Haiti Earthquake 7th Anniversary: Fundraising Reception
The UCL Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction (IRDR) and Thinking Development warmly invite you to a special reception on the 7th anniversary of Haiti's earthquake.
Join us as Thinking Development showcase and celebrate the opening of the new Centre Rosalie girls' primary school, which was destroyed in the earthquake (watch school inauguration here) and fundraise for the next stage of reconstruction (kindergarten roof repair and solar kitchen).
Bring along your friends, family and colleagues and enjoy our:
Drinks reception (complimentary for ticket-holders);
Session of talks and presentations (hearing from representatives of academia, development practice, and a video-link with Haiti);
Bake sale (savoury pies and pastries, and sweet cakes);
CD sale of new Haitian-European music;
Raffle (1 complimentary raffle ticket upon arrival for all ticket-holders). Prizes include: * Luxury Jing Tea Hamper * Curzon Cinema tickets * Kew Gardens day out for 2 * Jazz Cafe concert tickets * Food-and-Pamper Hamper * and more!
Soundtrack of Haitian music donated by the amazing Mélissa Laveaux, TiCorn and 'Voices of Haiti in Europe'.
TICKETS: £10 (£8 for students - limited availability) excl. online fee.
Due to limited capacity, please ensure tickets are booked well in advance.
All proceeds go to Thinking Development (registered charity 1147071), to aid the next stage of the Centre Rosalie reconstruction (kindergarten repair and solar kitchen).
