Haggart Observatory Viewing!

Join Rose City Astronomers at the Environmental Learning Center to gaze at the night sky through the Haggart Observatory's 24" reflector telescope, and learn about the stars and planets!


Date: August 25, 2019

Time: 9:45 pm

Cost: $10.00/adult, $8.00/child

Details: Portable scopes will be set up on the catwalk around the observatory dome, where Rose City Astronomers (RCA) will assist people with viewing, while 3 or 4 people are in the dome looking through the big scope. They will rotate until everyone has a chance to look through the big scope.


Event Tips:

  • Dress for the weather

  • Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled viewing time

  • If the skies are cloudy, please call 503-594-6044 on the day of the event for a recorded announcement about the status of the night's event. Scheduled Public Nights might be cancelled on account of poor sky condition- generally any forecast for skies that are not at least "mostly clear".The Environmental Learning Center will refund your money or reschedule you for a different time.
