"UBUNTU" is an African-based philosophy; translated it means "I am because we are." It will feature the work of Harlem Arts Festival visual artists from the past five years. It asks them to acknowledge the individuals who have made them possible, reflect on how their artwork embodies the people, places, and/or events that have shaped them as artists, and answer how their artwork connects them to the Harlem community.
