HackSC is USC’s first-ever University Park Campus-focused hackathon competition, by students, for students. The goal of this event is to get great ideas into the hands of the general student body. Now more than ever, technology is transforming academia in ways it never has before. By leveraging these tools, we can create a more connected, better informed, and lower-stressed student body.

Whether you're new to programming or an experienced developer, come out to HackSC! You can work with a team or by yourself. If you don't know anyone, don't worry. Teams will be formed at the Kick off Reception. We guarantee it'll be a memorable experience and there will be free food!

Friday 10/11 6:00pm: Kick off Reception

Saturday 10/11 : Start programming!

Sunday 10/12 : Meet at 5pm for presentations.

HackSC Fall is sponsored by USC ACM, USC USG, Qualcomm, Yahoo! and VSI^2.

Additional info:

We are calling all USC students and faculty to submit ideas for creative uses of technology to improve the system and increase student well-being. All students and faculty are then invited to participate in making these great ideas a reality on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 6pm. Participants may choose their own teams of any size, and may be composed of people from all backgrounds, including business, communication, health, visual arts, and engineering. However, all teams must have a working prototype that they can demo by Sunday, October 13 at 5pm.

Our judging panel will judge the products by their Ease of Use, Presentation, Long-term viability, and Specificity for USC. The top 5 winning teams will receive a $100 grant to develop their app further over the following week, where they must rack up as many USC students and faculty to use their program. They will then present their findings, statistics, and feedback at a school-wide event at Ground Zero, on Thursday, October 17 at 6pm. The winning project team will receive a $500 award, and support from USC to develop the application further.
