Abstract:
As hospitals and medical equipment grow more networked globally, the importance of risk management for security vulnerabilities has never been greater. There are many benefits to medical devices expanding connectivity, but there are security and safety risks that come along with this. Ransomware and other types of attacks on medical devices can jeopardize patient safety, which is why it is imperative to consider preventative measures. Various security testing methods can be considered when scaling up detection and incident response for networked medical devices. Medical device security is a matter of life and death, and as security professionals we choose life!
