***PLEASE STANDBY FOR UPDATED SCHEDULING***

Our June H4D Educators and Sponsors Course will be reschduled until later in the summer. More details to follow soonest, but anticipate August or September. We hope to see you then!

***************************************************************

The H4D Educators and Sponsors Course is a 3-day workshop at Stanford University that prepares prospective Instructors, Government Sponsors, and Corporate Partners to take part in the Hacking for Defense™ class. This is an amazing opportunity to learn the Hacking for Defense methodology with likeminded innovators and educators from across the United States. This course will certify participants to teach H4D or any of the spinoff H4X classes.

Join the original course authors (Steve Blank and Pete Newell), veteran H4D instructors (Chris Taylor from Georgetown University), and recent H4D students from Stanford University in an engaging two-and-a-half-days of panels, networking events, and interactive exercises. The course content covers teaching and mentoring students in Hacking for Defense, developing their interest in national security issues, and how to craft practical problem statements. Join us, and become part of the Hacking for Defense movement!

Instructors

Instructors can expect to review the H4D curriculum and underlying Lean Methodology. You’ll get the inside-scoop to successfully execute H4D during Q&A sessions with former students and instructors, and you will be provided a copy of the H4D Educators Guide, a comprehensive reference for teaching Hacking for Defense. Former problem sponsors will present on their experience working with students and how to successfully manage relationships with Government Sponsors.

Note that the H4D Educators and Sponsors Course is the only approved course that satisfies the certification requirement for instructors wishing to teach any of the H4D classes, including Hacking for Defense, Hacking for Diplomacy, and Hacking for Homeland Security.

Government Problem Sponsors

For potential Problem Sponsors from across the Interagency, the course provides insight into their role and how to maximize the return on their investment. Topics include how to support student teams and what to expect from the class, how to submit and word your problem statement, good problems vs. bad problems, and how to maximize the chance of being selected by a student team.

Corporate and Industry Partners

For Corporate & Industry Partners, this course provides an opportunity for your cohorts of H4D™ team advisors to become certified in applying lean methodology to solving national security problems while also learning how to make the experience supporting H4X more valuable to your organization.
