Event description

Description

As new media (AR/VR/XR) is one of the pillars of the Creative Economy beyond the “Gig Economy,” there are new electronic ways of using networking, artificial intelligence, immersion, and engagement to find and produce work. In Hannah Arendt’s seminal monograph “The Human Condition,” work is distinguished from labor as providing “the “artificial” world of things, distinctly different from all natural surroundings,” while labor is the ongoing necessary activity we must do to stay alive.

How are these distinctions reinforced or transformed by new immersive and networked ways of working in the digital economies? How can we, with the use of these media, speculate on a future of production affected by the changes in climate and the forces of continued political strife?
