Habitat for Humanity Green Design Charrette

You are Invited!

Habitat for Humanity is teaming up with the U.S Green Building Council Central Indiana Branch to make the next series of Habitat homes LEED Certified!

In order to do this they need qualified design and building professionals like you to help set and acheive the goals necessary for this undertaking. You are being invited because you have expressed an interest in Habitat for Humanity, are a proactive green designer or builder, and/or have a specific qualification that will make you a benefit to this charrette.

The Charrette will cover a variety of topics to include LEED case studies, energy efficiency and analysis, site issues and landscape design. Break out groups will be formed to discuss thermal envelopes, heating and cooling systems, renewable energies, site and landscapes, as well as materials and resource conservation. It is the goal of this charrette to gain enough points in the LEED system to make this project Platinum certified. Activites will revolve around acheiving this goal.

If you are interested in being a part of Habitat's next series of builds this is the event to kick start the learning process. Preference will be made for those actively involved in the learning process, so it is strongly recommended that you participate in this event. It is also strongly recommended that you join the local USGBC Central Indiana Branch organization to help gain further knowledge and experience with designing and building green.

For more information on joining the USGBC Central Indiana Branch and thier activites please go to their website. http://www.usgbc-in.org/

Your support for this program is greatly appreciated but because of the limited size of this event, it is by invitation only.  If you have not personally received this invitation please contact Christin Kappel at ckappel@thearchitecturestudio.com for other ways you can contribute to and benefit from an exciting new year of projects.

* Due to the strong support of this event and the overwhelming interest in attending a strict timeframe on invitations is being incorporated in order to maximize the outcome of this event.  Every seat will be filled with a waiting list, and invitations will continue to be distributed up until the event date. It is asked that if you are interested please register immediately in order to hold your position at this event. Please assume that you are invited as a participant unless you know specifically that you will not be participating in the activites. (Guest seats are held primarily for funding institutions, special guests, and program support staffing.) *
