Event description

Description

Kent State University's Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative and Cuyahoga River Restoration invite you to participate in a boat tour of the Cuyahoga River ship channel. The tour will explore opportunities for improved fish habitat in the ship channel and ways to design the river's edge that are friendly to people and fish.

The boat tour is open to property owners, developers, public officials, designers, scientists, students, and others interested in a friendly conversation about future development opportunuties that support the health and recovery of the Cuyahoga River. Students and faculty from Ohio State University's Landscape Architecture program have been exploring design ideas for habitat creation in the ship channel and will be on board to share their insights.

The tour is free but limited to 65 participants. Reservations are required.

Board the Holiday in the Cuyahoga River at scenic collision bend, 1800 Scranton Road (site of the old Jim’s Steak House, next to the fire station). There's plenty of free parking.

Please be at the dock no later than 2:45pm. Late arrivals might miss the boat (literally).

For more information, contact Terry Schwarz at the CUDC at 216.357.3426 (office) or 216.235.3745 (cell).

This event is made possible through the generous support of the Ohio Environmental Education Fund of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
