"Building the Blueprint"

Sherri Brandon (Executive Director, Front Steps Housing and Services)

Wednesday, March 27 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Old Stone Church

Sherri will focus on the crisis of homelessness in America, particularly amongst those who have disabling conditions. She will also speak to Front Steps' role in solving the current housing crisis in Northeast Ohio.

About Our Speaker:

Sherri Brandon, MNO/MSSA, CDCA, has served the homeless community for more than 20 years in roles that have allowed her to touch the lives of hundreds of people suffering from severe mental illness, chemical dependency, domestic violence and incarceration.

Ms. Brandon has served as Executive Director of Front Steps Housing and Services since 2008, where she has made significant strides in improving the organization’s structure, operational effectiveness and programming to better meet the evolving needs of the homeless community in Northeast Ohio. Under her direction, the organization underwent a successful change in both name and service model from transitional housing to a permanent, supportive housing model that serves chronically homeless individuals and families.

Through accreditations with CARF and certifications from MAHS and Medicaid, Ms. Brandon has strengthened Front Steps’ foundation through strong, relevant programs and comprehensive case management services to clients and the community. In 2018 she led the effort to secure grant funding that will allow for the construction of a new housing facility by 2020, which will ensure Front Steps’ future as a critical resource at the forefront of the fight to end homelessness.

Throughout her career, Ms. Brandon has received numerous awards for her service to the community, including the Community Service Award from the Cleveland Clinic Hospitals, the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Board of Directors of Transitional Housing, as well as the FBI Citizens Hero Award.

Ms. Brandon has a Bachelor of Psychology from Ursuline College, a Masters in Social Services Administration from Case Western Reserve University, and has recently earned a Masters of Nonprofit Organizational Management from Case Western Reserve University.

Ms. Brandon has studied internationally with a major focus on Community Development and economic sustainability amongst the impoverished communities both in Jamaica and Ghana, West Africa. She further experienced immersion in West African and Jamaican cultures.

Ms. Brandon is an ordained minister and is the Co-Pastor for N 1 Achord Ministries in Euclid Ohio, where her husband, Patrick Brandon, is the Senior Pastor. She is also the founder of Victorious Women’s International Fellowship, a ministry designed to restore women who have been wounded, misunderstood, and rejected. Together, she and her husband are the proud parents of 4 adult children and a 17 year old daughter.
