Event description

Description

Ever wondered about the role of County and City Commissioners? Do you think a lot about the growth of our community and want to be involved in the vision for its future, but you're not sure where to start? We're pulling back the curtain of local government and giving you the opportunity to have a conversation with the people who represent you.

In this panel discussion, we'll talk to City of Bozeman Commissioner Chris Mehl, Gallatin County Commissioner Don Seifert, and GVLT Board President Mark Kehke, to discuss their roles, duties and responsibilities related to growth, their vision for our future as we grow and the role open land plays in our community. Learn about the basics for planning for growth and how to engage as citizens to help ensure that our voices are heard as this valley changes.

You'll meet other young professionals from diverse backgrounds for some thoughtful, guided conversation about the changes, good and bad, happening in our community. Then, our panelists will share the three things they want you to know, and at the end, we'll open it up to respectful Q+A. You'll walk away with information and a path forward to make your voice heard and protect our valley's open land.

The Gallatin Valley Land Trust connects people to the land through the conservation of open spaces and creation of trail systems. For more information, visit www.gvlt.org.
