“...Who knows? Perhaps you have come to [this place and time] for just such a time as this.” Esther 4:14
Join other women of the church as The Rev. Dr. Marty Stevens helps us explore the stories of some “gutsy gals” of the Old Testament. These women stepped outside the normal roles of women and transgressed expectations. They took on the powerful men of the day. They used what they had at their disposal to provide for their families, sometimes overcoming incredible odds. Their stories, preserved in sacred scripture, are inspirational to all “gutsy gals” today who seek to deepen the relationship with God and further God’s mission in the world.
There will ample opportunities for:
crafting (bring your own crochet, knitting, handiwork, scrapbooking, or other crafts)
service (we will provide the contents to assemble Personal Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief)
reflection (walk the Labyrinth, hike, enjoy the woods)
fellowship (enjoy time with old friends, make new friends!)
Professor Stevens is the Associate Professor of Biblical Studies and Stewardship at Gettysburg Theological Seminary. Worship will be led by Pastor Elizabeth Platz. Sponsored and led by the Saint Luke Lutheran Chruch Women of the ELCA.
