Gut Feeling - What to do about IBS
Sat, May 20, 2017, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM BST
IBS presents differently for each person and is on the rise.
Join us to learn the basic principles of our integrated approach to IBS and discover practical steps to manage or resolve your IBS symptoms.
Registered Nutritional Therapist Claire Clerkin and Mindcoach Aisling Cowan bring together expertise from different areas of gastrointestinal and neurological research, psychology and basic biology.
Our approach to working with IBS ties together the mind-body triggers of symptoms – research increasingly shows that the digestive system and our emotions are intricately linked and this could be the key to relieving your IBS symptoms.
During the workshop we will work together to:
map your IBS symptoms - from onset and discuss common triggers
discover which foods may be contributing to symptoms, explore diets that may be helpful for IBS and learn how to safely adjust the way you eat to reduce symptoms
discuss how ways of eating can bring on or exacerbate symptoms
experience relaxation techniques you can use at home
take a mindfull walk around the beautiful allotments and learn about culinary herbs that could help your digestive system
develop a personalised self care plan you can try at home
We will also include a food demonstration to help you start off your IBS-friendly kitchen.
The event will be held at the beautiful Colinglen Allotments and Healthy Living Centre. Teas and snacks included.
