Event description

In the second Functional Medicine Grand Rounds of 2019, I wanted to focus on the topic of the gut-brain connection. The gut and oral microbiome were described to be the "second brain" by many medical experts.

However, I consider the alimentary track the first brain. Micrombiome and gut integrity studies affect neurotransmitter activation, genetic expression, inflammation, and even beta amyloid deposition in the brain. The relationship is far more intricate than we believed.
