Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys are "country music with a Michigan root", says band leader Gunnar Nyblad. In other words, GGB's country rocks!
The band came together in '09 when Nyblad went to the Michigan State University Agricultural School to learn how to run his families’ apple orchard farms. There, he met lead guitarists Shane Grehan and Chris Newberg and drummer Joe Connolly, then introduced them to his high school buddy, bassist Rob Mason.
GGB's first show was opening for Justin Moore that year and since then their high-energy show has shared the stage with Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, Colt Ford, Kid Rock and many more, including David Allen Coe.
Last summer, SiriusXM's The Highway started playing GGB's "Standard American", which had just come out on the Mud Digger 5 compilation CD. The reaction was immediate with over 25,000 downloads sold in the US and Canada.
