Gungor Acoustic Christmas Concert/Benefit
Missio Dei Community and United Presbyterian Church invite you to join us for an intimate acoustic Christmas concert with Michael and Lisa Gungor. It will be an evening with a mix of non-holiday Gungor originals, holiday classics, and holiday originals creating a unique and meaningful experience.
Local artist, Kathleen Murray, will play a short set to open the concert.
All proceeds from the evening will benefit Digital NEST as a holiday gift from the faith community in Santa Cruz County.
A limited number of VIP tickets are available which include a post concert reception, beer tasting hosted by Beer Church Watsonville, mix/mingle and Q&A time with Gungor next door at the Digital NEST building.
The concert is being hosted at United Presbyterian Church of Watsonville at 112 E Beach Street, Watsonville, CA 95076. Parking lot access is from Trafton Street between Watsonville High School & Cabrillo CollegeWatsonville Center (Trafton looks like an alley and is located between E Beach St and Maple St off Marchant St. Apple Maps will tell you that Trafton connects with Union St, but dont be fooled, it does not! Digital NEST is a non-profit, high-tech training and collaboration space for young people. Digital NEST provides youth and young adults ages 12-24 with free access to computers, software, Wi-Fi, and a full range of state-of-the-art digital tools and classes. Kathleen Murray has been writing songs for over a decade. Her approach has evolved but remains true to its roots, as a form of process. Inspired by the farmland and forest surrounding Watsonville, California her debut album Woodland Voices (2014) presents themes of spiritual unrest and learning how it's not always bold to be alone.
Michael and Lisa Gungor are curators of the Grammy-nominated musical collective simply known as Gungor. The duo uses their skills as accomplished song writers and multi-instrumentalists to tell honest and forthright stories - some personal and some allegorical. Together they've tapped their considerable musical reserves to blur genres and break expectations creating a unique magnetic expression.
