Event Details

The Kansas City community will come together  at this event to share common experiences and concerns related to gun violence – including gun safety, suicide, murder, mental health and more, and to identify effective strategies and action steps to reduce gun violence in our society.   By coming together to find common ground and comitting to take action,  we will influence our elected officials because we are a block of concerned citizens that will vote based on this issue, and will hold them accountable for the needless loss of life caused by gun violence.

You will have the opportunity to select 2 of the following  break-out sessions when you register for the event. The sessions you may choose from are:

Session 1: Dr. Kimberly Randall, Emergency Room Physician, Children’s Mercy Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri, speaking about children and gun violence- the alarming statistics, homicides and suicides involving children, and what we can do to keep our children safe

Session 2: Tracie McClenden-Cole, Director, Aim 4 Peace, Kansas City Health Department, speaking about Gun Violence as a Health Issue; treating it like a contagious disease, or  epidemic, and developing the “cure”.

Session 3: Rep. Stacey Newman, Missouri House of Representatives, speaking about current firearms laws and how to advocate for reasonable gun legislation.

A boxed lunch will be provided with your registration.

Registration is limited. Please register now!

Scholarships are available.
