Description
Fighting island hunger with healthy food and clean water one meal at a time.
An event to raise awareness of the need for healthy food and clean water on the Sea Islands. The Sea Islands Hunger Awareness Foundation is to commited to supporting financially and in resource the food distribution programs that are already helping feed those who struggle with hunger on the islands.
The Foundation also has it's own specific outreach projects into the community. The Sea Islands Blessing Basket that distributes food boxes once a month, the Crock-Pot Cooking Class which teaches upper elementary aged children how to cook simple, healthy food with just a crock-pot, and Water Wellness Mission which helps families, who cannot afford it, on Wadmalaw Island obtain clean and safe drinking water due to failing and aging wells.
