Join us as we hear why Georgia has been called “the state to follow for innovative tree ordinances.” Learn what are now considered important elements of a tree ordinance, such as sustainable landscape practices, habitat conservation, minimum canopy standards, integration into zoning codes, and more. You'll hear from speakers Andrew Saunders, Environmental Coordinator, Athens-Clarke County; Connie Head, Consulting Urban Forester, Technical Forestry Services; and Ed Macie, Regional Urban Forester, US Forest Service, Southern Region. Working on your community tree ordinance? Bring your questions and get answers from urban foresters who have worked on the most progressive tree ordinances in Georgia. Lunch is included and CEUs will be available. Additional parking is available in the Clarke Middle School parking lot located behind library, off of Dudley Street.
