Event description
An introduction to River work (source work), the foundation for actorly discovery.

About this Event

Workshop Description:

Our workshop will be an introduction to River work (source work), which is the foundation for actorly discovery as well as a tool for generating and examining content and form in theatre creation and making. The River is about the voice, gesture, movement, impulse, stories, the source that brings you to an artistic pursuit, the art you serve, the need to speak and show. The three hour session will introduce principles of the River, impulse, imagery, action, play and basic scoring. We will touch on two concurrent streams in training, the technical body and the creative body and the beginnings of working the elusive muscle that connects the imagination to the body.

This workshop is open to 2SLGBTQ+ identified artists and individuals of any age.

Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Cabaret 12 Alexander St.
Toronto, ON M4Y 1B4
