Description
Rumpelstiltskin by Marti Epstein is based on a classic Brothers Grimm tale that has permeated our culture for hundreds of years. Retelling the story for our time, with many of the roles voiced as women, Marti’s hypnotic music transports you to an expansive fairy tale world.
This family friendly performance is sung in English in an oratorio style with shadow puppetry. Directed by Nathan Troup with puppet design by Iranian theater artist Deniz Khateri, and production design by co-artistic director Julia Noulin-Mérat.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Boston Cultural Council and administered by the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture.
