The Greater St. Louis Association of Black Journalists (GSLABJ) and the St. Louis University Office of Diversity and Community Engagement will host a panel discussion and Q&A session on Saturday, June 10, discussing the image of the black male in the media and in American society.

The program is part of an initiative launched by the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), The Black Male Media Project, #InspireBlackMen. The majority of NABJ chapters will host events where the conversation will focus on the black male image. St. Louis area journalists, as well as representatives from the arts, youth development, and social research, will tackle this timely issue of negative stereotypes, damaging images, and how they impact how black men and boys.

Participants will include Carol Daniel of KMOX Radio and president of GSLABJ, Dr. Jonathan Smith, vice president for Diversity and Community Engagement at Saint Louis University, Dr. Stefan Bradley, associate professor at Saint Louis University.

Light refreshments will be served following the panel.

This event is FREE and open to the public.
