Description

Growing Strength is a one-day workshop for food aid providers, including but not limited to food banks, to explore and develop skills in sustaining small voluntary organisations, managing volunteers with differing time commitments and from diverse backgrounds, and ways of working together within and across organisations.

The training will focus in particular on: effective & inclusive ways of working with diverse groups of volunteers, compassion fatigue / burnout, building organisational sustainability, and dealing with organisational change and growth.

The workshop will be highly participatory,drawing out and working with participants’ own experiences and group processes to develop both knowledge and practice of group communication and group working skills.

Through the training, participants will develop

  • Improved group working skills;
  • Improved understanding of organisational development;
  • Confidence in themselves and each other to manage small organisations.
  • Skills to work in inclusive ways with diverse volunteers;
  • Ways to support themselves and each other to work sustainably

Trainers: Clare Bonetree & Bob Banks, Turning The Tide network https://turningtide.org.uk.

Bob is a workshop facilitator, e-learning developer and former teacher; Clare is a life coach and facilitator with 20 years in the voluntary sector and a background in training, community organising, peace campaigning, and permaculture teaching.

To enable us to provide this training for free, will not be able to provide lunch. Please bring a packed lunch.
