Description

We can grow some of the best fruit right here in DFW!

Success with fruit trees in North Texas means not only providing the proper care, but also knowing which varieties- and how many to plant - in order to get the best harvests.

It's time to select fruit trees for planting, and NHG welcomes back Texas A & M AgriLife Extension speaker Jeff Raska to detail everything you need to know in this free class. Covered are the best fruits to grow here and the best varieties and how pollination works, along with pest control recommendations and demonstrations of the all-important pruning techniques. We'll even decipher chill hours for you. Ornamental or edible, there's lots to know, but plenty of rewards when you add these trees to your landscape.

Jeff's extensive, personal experiences with growing made this one of our most popular classes last year. You don't want to miss your chance to experience it!

Jeff Raska is Program Assistant for Agrilife, and regularly presents programs on sustainable landscaping as well as his extensive experience in raising chickens in an urban environment.

Also see our Earth-Kind Landscape Design Class on February 17th, and watch for more free programming from the AgriLife Extension Service later this year.
