Event description

Description

Learn to grow fresh, healthy produce in your own backyard! This course will include advice for successful vegetable gardening in southwest Florida. This class is offered to both Community Garden Members and the general public. Advance registration is required. Register early through Eventbrite.com to reserve your spot and receive notice of any changes.

Seeds and starter plants will be provided for participants to take home during this class. Varieties will include vegetables appropriate for Spring gardens. Specific quantities and varieties will be determined closer to the class date, based on crop availability. Examples include tomatoes, peppers and cilantro.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards purchasing seeds, soil and other supplies needed to continue providing starter plants for school Gardens. In addition to serving our community gardens, our starter plants are used in area schools throughout the county to teach children about growing and consuming healthy produce!
