Growing Bonds: New Moms Group (3 - 6 months)
- Meet a group of other moms in your area
- Talk, listen, laugh, bond
Mommybites Boston is proud to offer Boston-area moms support groups launched in NYC in 2008!
In our new moms groups, each week you’ll share experiences, engage in parenting discussions, gather valuable resources, and ask your parenting questions on order to make this time of major transition smoother, saner, easier and more enjoyable!
After these warm, informative, and friendly sessions, you’ll be fully connected to a great group of other trusted moms and feel empowered with essential skills such as dealing with sleep deprivation and overcoming the challenges of feeding & fussiness.
Mommybites' support groups are led by facilitators who will guide you to embrace your new role & identity as a mom with more confidence, compassion and humor.
-When: 6 Tuesdays 5/09-6/20 (No class 5/23)
-Where: Magic Beans, Brookline
Led By Ashley Oliver. As an assistant manager at Isis Parenting, Ashley discovered her love to work in an atmosphere where you can see both parents and children learn and grow. After witnessing the importance of community support for new moms, she was eager to become a new moms group instructor. As a mom to a wonderful 6 year old, she has a natural compassion for postnatal support. She is cross trained with our own Mommybites instructor Katherine Hudkins, participated in A New Moms Group Facilitator Training, and also works at the Little Lovage Club. She has a BA & MS from Lasell College, years of childcare experience, and has worked in the prenatal and postnatal industry since 2012. Her teaching style is genuine, positive, and has an open understanding to all that comes along with Parenting.
What if I have to miss a session?
Life happens (especially as a new mom!) Do what you can to make it each week, but know that the program is valuable even if you have to miss some sessions. We don't prorate our support groups for missed sessions as it's really about getting 6 weeks of support & resources (vs 6 sessions). One of the best parts? Developing friendships with so many supportive moms.
What Mommybites Moms are Saying:
Becoming a new mom was the most exhilarating, exhausting, and intense journey I'd ever experienced. What I found I needed most was a sense of community, which is what this group offers. Meeting up, learning from, and laughing with other new mothers helps turn an uncertain and potentially scary time into a shared adventure...
The New Mom's Support Group for babies is a fun and easy way to bond with other moms. The focus is really on the mom, which is so unique in the vast universe of mommy and me classes in NYC...
I enjoyed taking part in the support group. It is great to be with moms and their little ones born around the same time as my daughter. We shared and learned a lot from each other, but the best thing is that we made friends!
