Event description

Description

Practice your photography skills through the “Grow Your Photography – Garden Walks” series. Explore lush community gardens as we practice and learn photo techniques, eat a garden fresh lunch cooked by master gardeners and learn about our gardens all while directly contributing to the growth of these gardens and programs. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Los Angeles Community Garden as well as images from the tour.

We will start our visit at the Mott Street Learning Garden and learn about how these gardens are sustained in the community, what importance they bring for creating and maintaining green spaces in park poor neighborhoods and learn how to take better pictures along the way. Throughout the experience, we will engage in action items to enable better access to healthy food at farmers markets across Los Angeles.

This is a hands on experience so bring your cameras, minimal gear and a ton of questions. Be ready to learn and take your skills to the next level with some simple effective practice in beautiful places.

Following the tour of the gardens and using our photo skills we will dive into a delicious lunch made by one of the garden’s Master Gardeners. The closest you’ll get to farm to table.

Previous lunches have been:

Daikon Curry

Collard Cumin Wraps

Chard Stock Vegetable Soup

Fermented Vegetable with Rice

Let’s support our garden communities and showcase their beauty
