Event description
Black women have been asking for therapy spaces—here it is. Each session of tackles different topics in a group therapy format.

About this Event

This session of Group Therapy is designed as a space for Black women.

Whether you're partnered and struggling (ex. disappointed, overwhelmed), single and struggling (ex. grappling loneliness, freedom) or in a situationship and struggling (ex. thinking WTH) this is a space to unpack core issues, address trauma, discuss healthy coping mechanisms and heal.

There are some real challenges when it comes to Black Love. This is a space to talk about what it means to date and partner in an era when:

  • Professional Black men refer to themselves as "unicorns".
  • Black men earn "great guy" status from family/friends for working + coming home + taking care of their kids.
  • Black women are too often asked to be nurturers, sex partners and providers...for Black men.

How do you handle? What are the boundaries? How can you manage and push past just dealing with these dudes?

Expect a lively, courageously honest and fun conversation.

This is space to have a real talk about your happiness.

Oh, and there will be lite bites (see, already focused on your happy!).

Group Therapy is a space for people to work out their issues using the various therapeutic models. The session is lead by S. Tia Brown, a certified life coach and licensed therapist.
