Event description

Description

A Blessingway is a ceremony to mark one of the most important events in our lives: having a baby. “Blessingway” is a Navajo term for their traditional birth rites. The idea of the Blessingway was brought to American culture by midwives who saw that women needed to mark this special time of their lives with more than gifts. It is now a non-denominational ceremony that many women enjoy to help them prepare for motherhood.

The Blessingway gives us an opportunity to focus our attention, within a loving circle of support, on the incredibly joyful and transformational process of pregnancy and birth.

If you are pregnant, please join North Shore API and doula Katrina Galbraith as she leads us in a group ceremony.

Please note that for the purposes of this event, lap infants are welcome. However, please make separate arrangements for mobile toddlers and older children.

This event is free.
