Independent curator and art advisor Maria Vogel presents Grounded featuring work by New York-based artist Helen Kohnke, whose work is in dialogue with the natural world. In Grounded, Kohnke premiers a collection of paintings and works on paper. In order to continually challenge herself and her practice, Kohnke explores working across various medium, exploring the possibilities of size, scale, material, and color. With these works, she hopes to share her close interactions with nature that she finds so thrilling and encourage the viewer to do the same.
Join us for an evening of art, music, and drinks to celebrate Kohnke's work and to kick-off Vogel's residency as in-house art curator of The Canvas's Brooklyn space.
