"Brilliant." - NEW YORK MAGAZINE

"Meklit delivers a sound all her own. - USA TODAY"With her latest masterpiece, Meklit has affirmed her place among her childhood heroes: at the shining crossroads of two cultures, making truly moving music."  POPMATTERS

CURE FOR GRAVITY delivers an entrancing amalgam of atmospheric synth/alt/prog rock that is cinematic in nature. Lyrically, their songs deal with isolation and helplessness in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. This theme not only fits well with the musical background but also with the turbulent times we are living in. “BlackMetal,” the album’s first single, explores dark dystopian territory that eerily reflects today’s political landscape, and the band has produced a cinematic music video for the single that perfectly captures this mood.  EPK here.

"...downright celebratory." - PROGRESSION MAGAZINE

"you'll find yourself hugging the speakers...or discussing life with them...utterly fabulous!" - ROCKTOLOGIST

GroundControl has been the home base for the local band Cure for Gravity and an emerging salon for local music, dramatic art and lecture performances. FunctionOne, Inc. by day and rehearsal space for live performance space by night – CFG GroundControl seeks to serve as a safe space for local artists to break new work, test out new concepts or simply share an intimate moment with their audiences new and old.
