Event description
In this three part workshop, we'll learn how to maneuver through conflict with our kids in a healthy and constructive way

About this event

Managing conflict in our homes can be one of the most difficult challenges for a parent or guardian. It involves balancing authority and respect, while juggling complex emotions and trying to communicate with clarity and empathy – not so easy!

This will be the first workshop of a three-part series on navigating conflict in the home between parents and children. We will discuss conflict theories, and more specifically, how to understand parenting conflict dynamics with our kids. The second session (on May 31st) will focus on listening, de-escalating conflicts, and reconnecting together to help achieve openness and understanding each other’s viewpoint. And in our last session (on June 22nd) we will learn how we can assert our needs and handle defensiveness and other side-effects of conflict. These tools are invaluable in parent-child relationships, as well as in building and demonstrating strong and healthy communication practices for young adults.

This workshop will be led by our experienced Training Director (and father of two boys!), Will Dudenhausen. He has had extensive experience in working with kids, conflict management, facilitation, and communication skills. We hope you’ll join us and look forward to learning together and having the opportunity to connect with other parents!
