Register here for the GRONEN Doctoral Consortium hybrid event on 31 May, co-hosted by the ONE Sustainability PhD Community and Amsterdam Business School*, as part of the GRONEN Research Conference 2022, hosted by the Amsterdam Business School, University of Amsterdam.
Target group: Online attendance of this event is open to all PhD students doing sustainability research. No pre-submissions or applications are needed for online attendance on 31 May.

Program: This event is part of the 2-day GRONEN Doctoral Consortium at Amsterdam Business School, where day 2 is co-hosted by the ONE Sustainability PhD Community and open for a broader group of online participants. The event will be take place live from the Hybrid Learning Theatre of the Amsterdam Business School in Amsterdam.
9.00 AM CEST: Introducing Sustainability PhD Community by Junghoon Park & Arianna Pisciella.
9.15 AM - 10.15 CEST: Finding Your Academic Crowd: Tips and Tricks by Onna Malou van der Broek, Haitao Yu, Simone Carmine. Main discussion topics: (i) How can PhD students initiate setting up their academic network? (ii) What can be considered effective ways for PhD students to navigate conferences/associations/networks? Which tools can we use to remain up-to-date with various opportunities for PhD students? (iii) How can PhD students use the “study abroad” option to establish their academic network? How can PhD students find “study abroad” opportunities?
10:15 AM - 10:45 AM CEST: Coffee Break & Networking: Zoom breakout rooms for networking based on the themes that emerge from the first discussion.
10:45 AM - 11:45 AM CEST : Teaching as a PhD Student by Katinka Quintelier, Lucas Amaral Lauriano, Miron Avidan. Main discussion topics: (i) Do you believe PhD students need to have some teaching experience during their PhD? If so, what would be an effective way for them to practice teaching during their PhD (e.g., TA, adjunct lecturer, observation of advisor’s class, etc.)? (ii) How can PhD students be prepared for the teaching component of the job market? (e.g., teaching statement, potential syllabus, interview, etc.) (iii) If PhD students were assigned to teach non-sustainability courses (e.g., fundamentals of management, organizational behavior, accounting, etc.), how could they use such an experience to build up sustainability-related teaching capacity?
