About this Event
We are excited to bring back one of our favorite GRiZMAS activities….Killer Crafts & Cocktails! Sign up for a guided arts & crafts workshop led by Taylor Kamen Beardsall where you will be creating your own killer craft along with a delicious cocktail! You will be provided a list of supplies to procure along with suggestions to find supplies around your home. Taking place digitally over Zoom, register in advance to secure your spot; suggested donation of $5.

ACTIVITY + SUPPLIES : We will be making some fun, festive, and uplifting decorations for your staycation! Join Taylor Beardsall and the GRiZ team in making a Positivity Garland! We might also make some holiday cards, too! The basics: a few sheets of paper, string, scissors, something to write with, something to add color with. To take it up a notch: you can create these on fabric (duck canvas fabric at a craft store), acrylic paint, stickers, faux flowers, fabric, permanent markers, embellishments, hot glue, oil pastels, yarn, magazines, anything else you want to create with! Supply alternatives: dental floss instead of string! recycled cardboard instead of paper! Pen! Old newspaper/magazines
ABOUT TAYLOR BEARDSALL: Taylor Beardsall is a certified Art Therapist (ATR) and Yoga Teacher. She provides creative mind-body services for individuals, groups, and organizations. Taylor is a founder and art therapist at Solstice Healing Arts Collective, an expressive arts therapies studio in Bloomfield Hills, MI. In art therapy she utilizes tenets of mindfulness, as well as a humanistic and positive psychology approach. Through these approaches, she accompanies participants as a non-judgmental, fully present, and supportive facilitator on their journey of using art-making for healing.
COCKTAIL SUPPLIES:
Find supplies around your house:
- mason jar with lid
- knife
- peeler
- shot glass
- pot to heat water
- coffee mug
- glass for drinkin’
Ingredients shopping list:
- Clear liquor (vodka, gin, rum, or tequila)
- Dark liquor (whiskey, dark rum, or brandy)
- 1 lemon
- 1 orange
- some leftover cranberry sauce or jam
- maple syrup or honey
- brown sugar
- cinnamon powder
- butter or coconut oil
- a little bit of leftover coffee from this morning
- vanilla ice cream or non dairy creamer
Drink Recipes:
"The Cranberry Orange Sour"
Ingredients...
- 2 part clear spirit (can be vodka, gin, rum, or tequila)
- 1 part lemon juice
- 1 part cranberry sauce
- a nice big piece of orange peel
Recipe...
- Put all the ingredients in a mason jar with ice, put the lid on and shake it
- Either strain it off the ice or pour it out with the ice into a glass
- Garnish with another orange peel
- Drink :)
"The Hottie Toddie"
Ingredients...
- 1 shot of dark spirit (can be whiskey, dark rum, or brandy)
- a small piece of the lemon from the last drink
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup, honey, or agave
- half a teaspoon of room temperature butter or coconut oil
- cinnamon powder
- hot water
Recipe...
- put the liquor, lemon, sweetener, and hot water in a mug and stir to combine
- Float the butter or coconut oil on top and sprinkle with cinnamon
- Drink carefully, it’s HOT!
"The Coffee Softee"
Ingredients...
- 1 shot of dark spirit
- 2 shots of leftover coffee
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- tablespoon of vanilla ice cream, or almond / oat / coconut milk, WHATEVER YA GOT
- cinnamon powder
Recipe...
- Combine all the ingredients except the cinnamon in a mason jar with ice. Put the lid on and shake
- Pour out the drink and the ice into a glass
- Or just put a straw in the mason jar
- Sprinkle cinnamon on top
- Sip and enjoy :)
