Join us for the first installment of Grist for the Mill - featuring Michael Musto of the Village Voice & Mickey Boardman, Editorial Director of PAPER Magazine.
Kicking off the 3rd annual Easthampton Book Fest, our distinguished speakers will explore a range of topics including the role of the artist and writer in times of political and cultural shift.
Grist for the Mill is an ongoing series of culturally relevant discussions between contemporary thought-makers on a public stage, creating a platform that brings together a vibrant diversity of ideas, experiences, and new possibilities.

More about Michael Musto & Mickey Boardman
Michael Musto is a correspondent for the Village Voice, where he wrote the entertainment and nightlife column "La Dolce Musto" for 29 years. He also writes weekly e-columns for Out.com and PAPER Magazine, as well as articles for The New York Times "Styles" section. Musto is the author of four books - including the non-fiction guide "Downtown" and the collection "Fork on the Left, Knife in the Back", and he's a regular commentator about pop culture on CNN and on Channel 13's Theater Talk.
Mickey Boardman is the Editorial Director of PAPER Magazine. Since 1993, he has written the advice column “Ask Mr. Mickey” in PAPER, where he first started working as a intern. His writing has also appeared in T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Out and German Vogue. He is a constant presence on the NYC social / fashion scene and often appears as a cultural commentator, lifestyle expert and fashion guru on networks like VH-1, A&E, CNN, E! and Fox News. Boardman has been recognized by New York Magazine as one of the “Most Photographed Faces in New York” and was voted by Fashion Week Daily as one of the “most invited people in the city.”
Also a philanthropist, Boardman has been active in many charitable efforts, including Mr. Mickey’s Sidewalk Sale, Doctors Without Borders, Coalition for the Homeless and Red Cross Earthquake Relief for Haiti and Chile. He is a dedicated supporter of Citta, a charity that builds schools, clinics and women’s cooperatives in India and Nepal.
