Description

Join The Grief Support Network for a Day Long Grief Ritual

Please join us for our Dagara-style GSN grief ritual as facilitated by Wendy Kaas. We will engage with the land to collect our bundles, we will work together as a group to create the shrines, we will have the opportunity to be in active ritual, and we will share a meal together at the end. Don't miss this special opportunity to deepen into this sacred and ultimately joyful practice of releasing grief in community. This ritual includes circle, drumming, singing and creating a village together that has the power to honor and transmute our grief into the next stage of its journey.

This grief ritual will be held at The Mother’s Center in the foothills, approximately 15 minutes up Lee Hill Drive in north Boulder. We’ll be on two acres of land and will be enjoying the peace and beauty of this sanctuary. A light dinner will be served after the ritual. We invite you to bring a water bottle, sun hat, flowers, drums/shakers, and any items that represent your connection to the ancestors. You might also want to bring any snacks you will need during the day. You will receive a welcome letter from GSN prior to the event with additional information.

Grief expresses itself in many ways and is triggered from many experiences past and present – loss of life, job, pet or relationship, family trauma, abandonment, addiction, isolation, violation, feelings of personal failure and loss of innocence. Sometimes we unearth deep emotions that need continued attention. Grieving is an ongoing process in our lives and these rituals help us maintain healthy mental and emotional states. We invite people from all walks of life who are seeking peace, clarity and connectedness.

Rituals give purpose to action and always serve to connect us to something greater than our own solitary selves. GSN’s grief rituals allow us to access and work through our grief in a safe and constructive way. Our rituals are informed and facilitated by Wendy Kaas who was trained in the beautiful tradition of community grieving by Sobonfu Some and the Dagara people of Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Participants have reported to us some profound benefits and changes after attending a GSN grief ritual. These include feeling more heart-connected and held in community; having a sense of being cleansed and uplifted; experiencing a new or renewed connection to their ancestors; feeling more centered and grounded; and feeling less burdened and overwhelmed.

We know that grief can be a heavy burden to carry, especially alone. We feel having support during one’s grief journey is essential. Join us as we work with some ancient tools to help us access the deeper parts of ourselves in a safe and powerful container.

Don't miss our "Bring a Friend" Discount. Introduce a friend that has never attended a grief ritual before and you get 15% off ONE ticket price. Choose YOUR ticket (Grief Ritual) and then for your friend CHOOSE: You + FRIEND at checkout to receive your pre-applied discount.
