Gregg Drilling is hosting a 4-hour training seminar for geotechnical and environmental field staff and technicians. Training will include:
- Coffee & light breakfast
- Rotation through instructional stations
- Hands-on demonstration of field techniques with various equipment
- Instruction by industry experts: Dr. Peter Robertson (CPT) & Dr. Richard Laton (Soil sampling & logging) as well as industry partners from Regenesis, Geoprobe, Pace Analytical, and Confluence. Gregg PMs and experienced operators will be demonstrating equipment and capabilities as well as answering your questions.

- Hearing & eye protection provided. Please bring a hard-hat (extras will be available but not required)
The morning instructional seminar is designed to aid field staff in familiarizing themselves with various site investigation techniques. They will learn how each piece of equipment is used in specific situations or soil conditions. Problem solving techniques and on-site decision making will also be discussed.
Topics covered include:
- Soil classification, auger & rotary drilling. Instructors: Dr. Richard Laton, Cal State Fullerton & Megan Porter, Gregg Drilling
- Cone Penetration Testing, seismic CPT and specialized geotechnical testing. Instructors: Dr. Peter Robertson & Kelly Cabal, Gregg Drilling
- Sonic, Direct push and environmental sampling. Instructors: Brandon Moses, Gregg Drilling, Pace Analytical & Confluence
- Remediation demonstration & High-resolution site characterization. Instructors: Jake Wilson, Gregg Drilling & Regenesis and Dustin Tidwell, Gregg Drilling & Geoprobe
Location & Preparation:
Gregg's Northern California headquarters in Martinez. Please park on the nearby streets near 950 Howe Rd., Martinez, CA 94553. Parking is limited so please consider carpooling.
Event will be outside so please prepare accordingly based on the weather forecast, event will go on rain or shine. Please bring a hard-hat if you have one. Hearing and eye protection will be provided by Gregg Drilling.
Cost:
Registration is only $50/pp now through February 24th. Late registration price increases to $100 on February 25 - REGISTER NOW! Students can register for a 50% discount, please contact Kelly Cabal: kcabal@greggdrilling.com if you are a full time student.
