Greening School Food:
A Northwest Forum on Healthy, Climate-Friendly Food Service

Presented by:

Event Description:

On September 25th, Washington Green Schools, Oregon Green Schools and Friends of the Earth will bring together K-12 sustainability coordinators and school food service directors for a focused conversation on how to improve school menus for accelerated health outcomes while also reducing the climate impacts associated with school food service.

It is now clear that menus that have a central focus on healthy foods also tend to have a lower environmental impact. The unique gathering will provide a forum for key stakeholders to share existing best practices, explore strategies for overcoming obstacles and learn from innovative national organizations and regional nutrition services leaders.

KEYNOTE LUNCHEON SPEAKER:
Suzy Amis Cameron: Founder MUSE K-12 School, Actress, Author and Environmental Advocate

CONFIRMED SPEAKERS:
Kari Hamerschlag, Deputy Director, Friends of the Earth Food and Technology Program
Colleen McKinney, Associate Director, The Center for Good Food Purchasing
Amy Webster, Food & Nutrition Coordinator, Forward Food
