STEM Cooking with Allergic to SaladJoin Allergic to Salad in these fun, hands-on, from-scratch STEM-based culinary classes. Together we'll hone our culinary skills by learning how to use a variety of tools (knife, grater, peeler, etc), discuss kitchen and food safety, explore new and exciting foods, recipes and come together to enjoy dishes like Spanikopita, Sushi, Fruity Granola, Pumpkin Ravioli and more! Our classes create a platform for a lifetime of adventurous eating and purposeful life-skills. See more at www.allergictosalad.com.
 
Classes provide basic kitchen safety, food handling, food prep and technique, including knife skills. We encourage cleanliness, proper table setting and manners. Cooking is known to increase motor skills, math skills, build self-esteem, self-reliance, and more!

Classes integrate both long-term projects, like wild kimchi fermentation and short-term, like whole wheat pizza. As part of class, student will work on completing their own cookbooks of the recipes we make in class.

This class is VEGETARIAN and NUT-FREE.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Full refund 48 hours before classes begin. 50% refund for remaining classes once a session begins.

Allergic to Salad

Allergic to Salad specializes in healthy, fun, and hands-on cooking classes. We focus on kitchen safety, knife skills and vegetable, fruit and equipment identification. Kids will be cooking up-- and eating-- dishes like Carrot Cumin Soup, Pea Crostini, Breakfast Burritos and more.

We realize many claim they are “allergic to salad”– a convenient and understandable excuse in this era of pre-packaged industrialized food. Our work combats this widespread “allergy,” while increasing skills, technique, and familiarity with healthy foods, and creating a platform for a lifetime of adventurous eating through activity-filled classes.

While we are cognizant and sensitive to the variety of food allergies prevalent, the foods we share are for most every child, whatever the age, who declares he is “Allergic to Salad.”
