Description

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of man landing on the moon with out-of-this-world family fun at Greenbush! Admission is free, but advance registration is requested.

Where:

  • William L. Abernathy Science Education Center and PSU-Greenbush Astrophysical Observatory

When:

  • 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
    Saturday, July 20

Activities:

  • Watch a short film about the Apollo 11 mission in the Digital Media Globe
  • Take a virtual reality-powered trip to the moon
  • Launch water-powered rockets on the north lawn
  • Use programmable robots to complete a moon rover mission
  • Make and try astronaut food
  • Create and take home a moon phase calendar
  • Learn about moon phases with Oreos
  • Build LEGO rockets and take photos at the LEGO wall
  • Explore the PSU-Greenbush Astrophysical Observatory, which features a telescope designed by famed astronomer Clyde Tombaugh
