Event Details

Maker Faire, the greatest show (and tell) on earth showcases MAKERS from all around the world who make robots, cupcake race cars, 3D Printers, crafts, puppets, clothing and much more.  TRAVELERS are those who come and help us make the event possible.

We need your help to maintain Maker Faire as a ZERO WASTE event.  The Green Traveler program provides travelers with a comprehensive Zero-Waste education, where you learn the systems that allow Maker Faire to keep the vast majority of waste materials from the landfill.  After going through the training, Green Travelers take on a role of educating participants on where there waste materials do -- and do not -- go!    We'll help you become an expert before Maker Faire so that you can best teach participants about Zero Waste.  And in turn, you help us to Reduce any materials going to the landfill, Re-use as much as possible, and Recycle what can't be reused.

Friday's set-up shift is more physical and involves setting up infrastructure across site.  Friday evening is the first recycling education shift at our famous Paella Dinner! Saturday and Sunday's shifts involve educating attendees about how to properly dispose of materials.
